Teacher Appreciation Week 03/18/2012
Teacher appreciation week is May 7th through 11th. PTO is planning a special week to show appreciation for the fantastic teachers we have at Highlands! We will be providing breakfast on Monday, lunch on Tuesday and Thursday and ending the week with a dessert buffet Friday. A treat bag with a note of appreciation will be a special gift on Wednesday. There will also be drawings through out the week for some nice gifts. We are asking for help from our parents to help assemble the treats for Wednesday, set-up/clean-up for the lunches and breakfast and to provide desserts. If you are will ing to contribute in any way, please e-mail www.highlandspto@hotmail.com and a coordinator wil contact you to make arrangements. Without the help of our awesome parents, special events like this would not be possible. This is your chance to be involved and help out for a great cause! Thank you! Add Comment Art In the Highlands was a success! 03/18/2012
Friday, March 16th was the Art in the Highlands family night tile painting. Highlands students, stafff and their families had a great time creating one of a kind paintings on 4x4 tiles to be displayed in Highlands entrance. We can can't wait to see how the finished project turns out! The profit from this fundraiser was $900 thanks to many donations of the supplies used. Thank you to Lisa Brower and Lindsey Smith for organizing this event. Also thank you to all the volunteers who helped plan and run this event and thank you to everyone who came and made it so much fun! Jog-a-thon Results 03/08/2012
Thank you Highlands students and families! Students raised over $14,000 from the jog-a-thon. This fundraiser was an ASB activity and will go mainly to the athletic department to use wherever it is needed. Thanks to everyone who participated, donated and helped with this event to make it such a success. ATP Honored 03/08/2012
The Action Team for Partnerships (ATP) at Highlands works to assist parents in partnering in their children’s education. Research shows that the more a family is involved in their child’s education the better that child will do in school and in life. Our PTO and ATP work together to promote educational activities for our middle school students. In recognition of the great work performed, our ATP was awarded with the 2011 Partnership School Award from the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) at Johns Hopkins University. For more information, please contact Debbie Savino, ATP chairperson at 222-6700. |
